| Shannon McCarthy lives at Clear Point Center. She makes the food! During the growing season, her vegetable palette comes from the local community farm, where she serves on the Steering Committee. Her interest is in creating artfully presented food that is simple and whole. Stay tuned to yourclearpoint.com for her Illustrated Basics Cookbook coming May 2008! Shannon has roots in St. Augustine, Florida and South Carolina. As such, Clear Point guests sometimes encounter a bit of Southern-style cooking. During the winter, she returns home (with Steve, a good sport :) to ensure that she doesn't turn into a Connecticut popsicle. During the summer, she likes to go swimming in the Staffordville Lake and pick blueberries down the way. In every season, she likes watching the birds- especially those big silly turkeys. This year she's growing an organic herb and edible flower garden in the backyard. Maybe the hummingbirds will come visit! She is also a painter and illustrator.
